Mrs M required surgery to remove her gall bladder and suffered significant damage to her bile duct during the course of this procedure.
It was necessary to perform a second operation to reconstruct the bile duct and it took approximately three months extra for her to recover as a result. We took on her claim and asked a medical expert to review the clinical notes and perform an examination.
He concluded that Mrs M’s care and treatment had fallen below an acceptable standard and commented that she was at an increased risk of developing future complications as a result. We successfully negotiated settlement of her claim for negligence and she received £35,000 compensation.
